EXO’s Xiumin and Kai Are Made Honorary Members of the Korean Football Association

EXO stars Xiumin and Kai have become honorary members of the Korean Football Association (KFA), the governing body of soccer in Korea.

The stars joined the head coach of the men’s national soccer team, Uli Stielike, and the president of the KFA,Chung Mong Gyu, at an event to mark the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the KFA and SM Entertainment that may see Xiumin and Kai become involved in promotional campaigns for the organization. The event was held at the KFA’s headquarters in downtown Seoul on December 11.

Xiumin and Kai also took the opportunity to snap some self-taken photographs, which were later uploaded to the EXO-M and EXO-K Facebook pages.

Kai and Xiumin attend signing event with Korean Football Association as representatives of SM Entertainment

On December 11, SM Entertainment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korean Football Association. To commemorate the signing, the guest list included big names such SM CEO Kim Young Min, the President of the KFA Jung Mong Kyu, head coach of Korea's national soccer team Uli Stielike, and EXO's Kai and Xiumin.

This particular MOU was signed to diversify Korean soccer and the Hallyu wave through the exchange between sports and the entertainment industry. With the MOU, the two organizations are to anticipate various collaborative projects that should benefit both parties.

At the signing ceremony, SM's CEO Kim Young Min stated, "In order to create a big event in Korea, such as the Super Bowl, that people all over the world can watch, we join Korean soccer and entertainment and will try our best to create content that can grab the attention of the people even beyond Asia."

Meanwhile, to commemorate the signing of the MOU, CEO Kim Young Min, EXO's Kai, and Xiumin were handed national soccer team uniforms. In addition, Kai, Xiumin, and soccer fan SHINee's Minho, were also presented honorary employee IDs.
