SM Entertainment Reveals EXO’s Xiumin was Too Sick to Attend Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards Show

SM Entertainment has explained EXO member Xiumin’s absence at last night’s 4th Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards show, revealing that he was too sick to attend the event.

“Xiumin was unable to attend the awards ceremony because of a bad cold,” an SM representative said, confirming that the singer was taking some time off to recover.

After winning the 2nd quarter Album of the Year award for “Overdose,” the group took to the stage to express their gratitude to SM Entertainment and their fans. Commenting on Xiumin’s absence, group leader Suho said, “We will be sure to share this honor with Xiumin, who couldn’t be here tonight. Please look out for our next project in 2015.”

Xiumin Preparing for Upcoming EXO Concert After Recovering from Cold

It has been reported that EXO’s Xiumin, who had previously been unable to attend the 4th Annual Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards that was held on January 28, is now recovered from a bad cold.

According to a representative of SM Entertainment on January 31, Xiumin’s health has completely recovered since his absence at the awards ceremony, reassuring fans who have been worrying about him. It is said that the EXO member even made a guest appearance on KBS Cool FM “Super Junior’s Kiss the Radio” the following day, on January 29, alongside fellow member Chen.

The rep explained, “Xiumin has recovered his health after getting rest. He plans to focus on preparations for the upcoming concert to be held in March.”
