SM Entertainment won eight awards from Red Dot Design Award 2014, an international product design award ceremony held in Germany.
At Red Dot Design Award 2014, SM won 8 awards from the ‘Communication Design’ section for Super Junior’s album Mr. Simple, Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s The Boys, SHINee’s The Misconceptions of you/me/us and Sherlock, f(x)’s Electric Shock and Pink Tape, EXO’s MAMA and XOXO/Repackage Growl.
Being called the Oscars of the design industry, Red Dot Design Award 2014 is one of three international design award ceremonies along with America’s IDEA Award and Germany’s iF Design Award , and it gives out awards in three sections of ‘Product Design Award,’ ‘Communication Design Award’ and ‘Design Concept Award.’
The winners are selected based on innovativeness, esthetic excellence, marketability, functionality, usefulness, concept and project impact, without any information on the exhibitor presented to the judges.
Having won awards from the second international design awards, following iF Design Award in January, SM has proven its superiority in its contents design and production system.
Red Dot Design Award 2014 ceremony will be taking place in Berlin in October and the winning designs will be displayed in ‘Red Dot Design Museum’ in Germany and Singapore.
