EXO Suho’s Father Refutes “Pro-Japanese Sympathizer” Accusations, Requests an Investigation of Defamation

The father of EXO member Suho has responded to accusations made by web users who have accused him of being a pro-Japanese sympathizer. Suho’s father is Kim Yong Ha, a professor at a respected Korean university, and has become embroiled in a clash with web users over a proposed change to the pension laws that govern Korean civil servants.

Kim Yong Ha has explained that certain web users have accused him of taking a similar stance to that of the “Chinilpa,” Koreans who collaborated with the Imperial Japanese colonial forces during the Japanese Colonial Period (1910-1945). He also said that web users have called Suho “the son of a collaborator.”

Kim Yong Ha said, “There are some people out there who disagree with proposals to change the law regarding pensions, and some of them are spreading some malicious stories about me. Those stories do not just affect my reputation, they affect my son, too.” According to reports, on November 12, Suho’s father submitted a request to the police for an investigation of defamation.

Japanese leg of EXO The Lost Planet Tour is going to be broadcasted by WOWOW TV in January. Filming will take place on the last day of November part of the tour, that is November 20th at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo. The tittle of the program is apparently EXO FROM. EXOPLANET＃1 - THE LOST PLANET ~MINUTES BEFORE SPECIAL～*

* the original tittle is EXO FROM. EXOPLANET＃1 - THE LOST PLANET～直前スペシャル～ where 直前 means 'just before' but it sounded weird in my opinion so I came up with something slightly more 'poetic' %)

EXO leader Suho was a recent guest on Sunny's radio program, 'Sunny's FM Date'. On the radio show, he revealed what happiness meant to him and what makes him happy these days.

Sunny introduced an idol special feature where the guest idol members ask and answer three questions about themselves and recommend one song.

Suho was the first one to come on the program as he introduced himself on air, "Hello 'Sunny's FM Date,' family! I am EXO's Suho. The questions that I prepared regard to my daily life. Listen carefully."

The idol continued, "First question. What was the most fun you had recently? At 10 PM, I went out and played basketball at the Han River. Out of all the feelings that I felt recently, I felt the most free during that time."

Suho then asked himself whom he had played basketball with to which he answered, "With fellow EXO member Tao, a colleague from college, and close hyung, actor Byun Yeo Han. They are people who I'm grateful for and they give me happiness, I learn a lot from them."

Suho then proceeded to ask himself the third question, "What is happiness to EXO's Suho? To enjoy the moment you're in. When I'm on stage, enjoy the stage. When I'm playing basketball, immerse myself in basketball. I think the feeling that I have at that time is happiness."

Relating to the happiness theme, Suho then ended his portion of the idol feature and recommended Pharrell's "Happy"

The awardees for the 2014 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Award have been confirmed.

According to the Korea Creative Content Agency on November 11, the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Award is given to those who have contributed to the development and diffusion of Hallyu.

In particular, singer Jin Mi Ryung and actors Lee Min Ho and Kim Soo Hyun have been awarded the Prime Minister Commendation. Lee Minho and Kim Soo Hyun were judged as spreading Hallyu in Asia through their representative works. Others receiving the Prime Minster commendation are actor Jun Gook Hwan, writer Park Ji Eun, MC Shin Dong Yup, and producers Jung Dae Kyung and Na Young Suk.

Group EXO, actor and singer Lee Seung Gi, actor Kim Bo Sung, choreographer Jung Jin Suk, comedian Kim Joon Hyung, musician Kim Jae Man, and producer Go Gun Hyun are receiving commendations from the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

The 2014 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Award ceremony will air on November 17 at 6 p.m. KST.

EXO is Most Supported Star of the Week in Star Cheer Battle

The 2014 MAMA nominees have been feeling the love in our Star Cheer Battle, where fans have the opportunity to send the star of their choice virtual roses, but one group, in particular, has been showered with support all week.

According to data from November 3 to November 9, EXO was the Most Supported Star for five out of the seven days of the week, collecting a total of 1,243,163 roses.

Although EXO fans have managed to keep the group on top for most of the week, Super Junior and Winner’s respective fans mobilized to each take their star to the top for one day of the week.

Super Junior collected a total of 975,940 roses for the week to be the second most supported star, while Winner followed in third place with 649,118 total roses.

Hello, this is EXO’s Kai.

I missed everyone a lot.
Due to our concerts, we are currently resting and don’t have many stages, making me regretful that we don’t have much opportunity to meet you all.
Perhaps that’s why my feet don’t want to move when we are exiting the stage.
Today the atmosphere was really amazing, it seems that you too really missed and longed to see us.
As expected, WE ARE ONE? Although it’s unfortunate not all of EXO-L could be present, we can still meet in the future, so please don’t feel too sad~ Got it?
